Summary of applicable requirements in the current Michigan emergency order MCL333.2253 (3/2/21):

  • Carnivals are permitted outdoor entertainment and recreation venues provided that no more than 1000 patrons are gathered and groups must remain at least 6 feet apart at all times.
  • Patrons must remain masked at all times, except when eating and drinking in designated areas.

Mason RailTime Adventures Compliance with the requirements in the Emergency Order as well as industry-sourced good operating Practices:

    Information Sharing and Patron Education:

Appropriate signage will have the following information: (1) Guests who have been sick with COVID19 or recently exposed (within 14 days) to an individual with COVID19, does not feel well, or who feels well but is in a high-risk category as defined by the CDC , should NOT visit the midway. (2) Guest information on how to stop the spread of COVID19, properly washing hands, promote everyday protective measures, and properly wear a face covering. (3) Guest information explaining that proper use of face coverings and maintaining social distance is a requirement to attend the carnival and guests not complying with requirements will be asked to leave.

Plan to Maintain Social Distancing Requirements:

  • Carnival Rides and games will be placed to allow more space for social distancing.
  • Midways will be wide to allow ample space between people.
  • Lines for rides and games will be marked to allow six feet social distancing and minimize mingling of groups.
  • Employees will not be permitted to physically assist or lift guests. If a guest needs assistance, a member of their

family must be able to assist. The exception would be an emergency situation.

  • Games will be played one at a time.

Plan to Maintain Face Mask Requirements:

  • Signage to identify the proper way to wear a face covering.
  • Employees will be on site to encourage guests to comply with wearing a face covering.
  • Face coverings will be provided for employees and disposable face coverings will be available for guests who

may require one. Sanitizing and Cleaning Protocols:

  • High touch surfaces will be cleaned by employees throughout the day with an alcohol or bleach based disinfectant. High touch areas include ticket booth counters, ride entrance and exit fence handles, guest restraints on rides, game concession counters and food concession counters.
  • At the beginning of each day and during the day, attractions will be thoroughly sprayed by employees with an EPA approved disinfecting solution.
  • Game equipment touched by guests will be cleaned after each use. Returns of game prizes will not be allowed.
  • Hand sanitizing stations will be situated throughout the midway.

Plan for Employee COVID19 Specific Training and Safety Monitoring:

  • Each employee’s temperature will be checked and recorded before work shifts, and they will not be allowed to work with a temperature above 100.4 degrees.
  • Any staff who is sick or with COVID19 symptoms and will not allowed to work and their health and safety will be monitored. If an employee needs medical attention, they will be assisted immediately.
  • Staff will be educated on sanitization and cleaning procedures for public and personal areas, social distancing, use of PPE, and guest responsibilities.
  • Employees will be instructed to wash their hands or use hand sanitizer at least every 60 minutes and after any of the following: using the restroom, sneezing, touching their face, blowing their nose, cleaning, sweeping, mopping, eating, drinking, smoking, entering, or leaving a guest area, and before and after their shift.
  • Employees should treat all bodily fluids as if they are infectious. They will wear PPE if moving materials with fluids on them or cleaning areas where fluids have been.
  • Employees will be encouraged to get the COVID19 vaccine when it is available to them.

Food Service

Mason RailTime Adventures does not carry food service concessions. However, if food vendors are booked in or a part of the midway, food and beverages will only allowed to be consumed in a specific designated area. Patrons or groups of patrons will be seated 6 feet way from each other. In these designated areas is where patrons may remove their face covering to consume food and beverages.

Conclusion:

Mason RailTime Adventures looks forward to providing family fun, safe carnival activities for our guests. As emergency orders are updated, this plan will be adjusted to continue to provide safe and enjoyable activities for our guests and families.
